It’s not easy to choose the right massage table. Nowadays there are so many options for you as a massage therapist.
But there is no easy way out. You have to inform yourself little bit about the characteristics off massage tables, the different manufacturers, the different kinds, the different features that some massage tables have today, and which one will be best for you.
The good news is that if you are willing to invest a bit of time, just a couple of hours, to educate yourself and look around, you will find a massage table that is just perfect for you, for a very fair price. This was not always the case. Just a couple of years ago massage tables used to be very expensive, because there weren’t that many companies selling them. They really have kind of a monopoly on the massage table market. That’s why they could set such high prices. But for you, as the educated buyer, you don’t need to let them overcharge to.
One of the first things to do when you are going to buy a massage table is to us yourself this question: how much space do I have for available for my massage table?
For most people, space is not a problem and every massage table will be just fine. However sometimes there are space restrictions, and then this is one of the first things you want to determine right away from the start.
The second question that you should answer is: will I have to move my massage table around sometimes?
If the answer to this question is yes, and you already know that sometimes you will have to move you massage table around, transported to another place — then make sure that you buy a portable massage table. Portable massage tables are lightweight and can easily be folded together so that they don’t take so much space when you transport them. If you already know that you will not need to move your massage table then you can just buy a stationary massage table.
The third question that you should answer these: what is my budget? I recommend that you do not go totally overboard when buying your first massage table. However, you also should not pinch pennies and I do recommend that when you set your budget set a real maximum prize. Don’t say I’m willing to spend $150, if you really sensibly can afford more. Don’t cap your limit on “wish price”. Instead make a real evaluation of your situation. Decide on a maximum prize. And make a commitment to find something that fits your needs, but as high-quality but does not cost more than your maximum prize. Maybe you will find one massage table that is just at your maximum prize and is perfect for you, but you still do have the option off looking around a little bit more. Maybe you can then find one that is much cheaper.
After a you have answered three basic questions, you’re ready for the next step in choosing the right massage table for you. The massage table buyers guide can help you to proceed with the next that until you find you write table.

Great article. I recently reviewed and compared a variety of available tables and published this too!
I’d certainly agree with spending what you can afford and not trying to just buy a bargain and save some money, value will last, cheap will collapse!
Also remember to budget for covers, and bag and trolley if needed.
